Jasper Main Street is a community-driven organization focused on the continued revitalization of Downtown Jasper through promotion, preservation, design, local business support, events, and economic vitality.
Downtown is where Jasper’s history, commerce, government, faith, and community life come together. A healthy downtown gives the city a stronger identity, a stronger local economy, and a stronger sense of place.
We serve downtown businesses, property owners, residents, visitors, volunteers, members, sponsors, and anyone who wants to see the heart of Jasper continue to grow.

Rooted in Jasper’s Story

For well over a century, Jasper has served as the seat of Walker County and a center of community life.

1887

City Founded

What began as a railroad town supporting the coal mines, farms, and families of the area grew into a downtown centered around Courthouse Square and the streets surrounding it. Over time, Downtown Jasper became a place where people came to shop, work, worship, serve, celebrate, and build a life together.

Its historic storefronts, churches, courthouse, city buildings, and public spaces continue to carry the story of the people who built this community.
